Where mindfulness and creativity takes root
Explore the dirt that inspired Muddy Minds Matter. Here, "the mud" is more than just clay; it's a space for mindfulness, growth, and finding new perspectives. Discover how getting a little messy can lead to beautiful creations and clearer thinking.

From earth to art: the beauty of creation
My clay play days are an important space in busy weeks between PhD studies, work and family, where my mind rests, processes and gets creative with the muddiness of the week that rolls around in my head. The little (and big) hearthlings, warrior girls, monster pots and functional items I craft, each represent a moment in time where I follow my hands, not my mind. Laughing, chatting, and getting deep in the dirt with an incredible group of people with Libby Usher @ Field Trip is not only a creative experience but a soothing and healing one too.
Each piece I create represents the idea that even when we feel stuck in the mud of life, these moments can be opportunities to pause, reflect, and create something new. I also believe that every little mistake I make on the wheel is only a mistake if I allow it to be - so finding fun solutions to my 'oopses' is part of the fun! Each piece embodies a moment of presence and transformation.
My ceramic work is a mix of everyday functional pieces and a bit of whimsy and darkness in sculptural form to process the week of work and leave it in the clay (not my head)

Mindfulness in motion: finding your creative flow
The act of working with clay is a powerful reminder of how creativity can soothe the mind and allow space to process complex thoughts. This practice was a key inspiration for founding Muddy Minds Matter, demonstrating how engaging with "your thing" can lead to profound personal insights and well-being.

Discover your "thing": support for your journey
Finding the things in life that give pause for calm, bring you joy, create energy or offer some silence are so important to sustain us when life or work throws it challenges at us. Whether it's through art, exercise, craft, puzzles, chess or friendship, it is important to know what works for you. It's likely many things in combination.
Sometimes we all need an extra ear to help us through. If you need support in navigating your own "muddy moments," I'm ready for a chat to explore how Muddy Minds Matter can come alongside you.
